Over $500 million Barbadian to more than 15,000 under Student Revolving Loan Fund

Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Kay McConney revealed that the Student Revolving loan Fund has approved over 500 million Barbadian dollars to more than 15,000 loan applicants over the years.

During the Student Revolving Loan Fund, 45th Anniversary Awards dinner at Mahogany Ridge in St Thomas, Ms. McConney spoke of the benefits of the Revolving Loan Fund to Barbadian students.

Applicants have been granted approval for loans to study online now locally, regionally, and internationally from North America to Europe to China and beyond. This has allowed Barbadians to be exposed to the highest educational standard and to opportunities without boundaries. In addition to areas of study, they have ranged from the traditional to the non-traditional, with the aim of developing a cadre of trained and qualified Barbadians equipped to not only assist in nation building but to assume leadership and global environments.”

She urged those who qualify and have been approved to honor their commitments. “Those fortunate enough to have benefited from the loans granted must recognize their moral and legal responsibility to honor their commitments by repaying the student revolving loan fund in a timely manner.”
