Mr. Agriculture arrested again for alleged crop theft

Talk show regular Roland Layne, who’s known by the name “Mr. Agriculture” has again been arrested by the police in connection with alleged crop theft.

Starcom Network News understands that police received a report this morning from the manager of Edgecombe Plantation alleging that 41 year old Layne, of Edey Village, Christ Church, had been caught red-handed stealing bananas and putting them into a vehicle.

The alleged crop thief is said to have tried to drive off but shots were fired into his vehicle’s tires and there was a short chase before the vehicle became disabled.

The police arrived and Layne was arrested at the scene.

In October 2017, Mr. Agriculture appeared in the Oistins Magistrates Court charged with the theft of the 80 pounds of cassava from Sundale Trading Company, along with two counts of assault.

He pleaded guilty to the theft of cassavas and was fined one thousand dollars or 6 months in prison.
