Member of Parliament for St. Michael North West Neil Rowe has been found not guilty of rape in a trial that has gained national attention since April 7.
A jury of five women and four men were unanimous in their verdict as Justice Pamela Beckles responded by saying “you are free to go”.
Rowe, his legal team led by KC Michael Lashley, and four female attorneys then embraced before leaving where he was met by family members.
Speaking with journalists outside the Supreme Court this afternoon, Mr. Rowe thanked his friends, family and his legal team.
Rowe’s lead attorney Kings Counsel Michael Lashley spoke with Starcom Network.
Rowe was accused of having sexual intercourse with a woman on September 18, 2022 at his home without her consent or was reckless as to whether she consented.
