Classes at the Alleyne School in St. Andrew have been suspended for the day and the children sent back home after winds gust from the passing tropical wave this morning dislodged galvanise sheets from the recently repaired roof the school’s library.

Chief Education Oficer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw tells Starcom Network News the authorities deemed the situation a risk to the safety of the children and immediately took action.

She disclosed that the repairs will be completed today.
