BARP Seeks Postponement of FTC Rate Hearing

The Barbados Association of Retired Persons, BARP, has filed a motion with the Fair Trading Commission, FTC, seeking a two-month postponement of the Light and Power rate hearing that was due to start next week.

BARP President Marilyn Rice-Bowen notes that while the rate hearing is due to start next Wednesday, September 21st, an acting FTC public counsel is due to commence work just two days prior to that date.

She terms this unacceptable given the importance of the hearing.
