70 Cuban Medical Workers in Barbados to assist Health Sector

A contingent of medical workers from Cuba arrived in Barbados yesterday to assist this country’s health sector.

The 70 member team which comprised 4 doctors, 4 laboratory technicians and 62 nurses were greeted by Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Dr. Sonia Browne, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Nigel Whitehall and Cuban Ambassador Sergio Castrana.

At a press conference at the Grantley Adams International Airport, Dr. Browne says she is eternally grateful for the help from Cuba.

Meantime Ambassador Castrana says his country will continue to provide specialized doctors whenever the Barbados Government needs them.
