Education ministry and teachers press ahead despite covid surge

Minister of Education, Kay McConney says she is pleased with how schools have been handling the recent spike in covid-19 cases as students continue face to face classes.

She was speaking following the launch of the Barbados 21st Century Educators Hub programme at the Ministry of Education.

Ms McConney says so far there are no reports of an outbreak in schools.

Meantime, General Secretary of the Barbados Union of Teachers, Herbert Gittens, believes his members are determined to press on with face to face classes despite the current covid-19 surge.
