The Barbados Association of Retired Persons is encouraging its members to take the COVID-19 vaccine given that many of them are very scared given the high mortality rate among their age group.
President, Marilyn Rice Bowen says many of their 30,000 members are excited that a form of protection is now available.
She says they are hopeful that the vaccine which is currently being rolled out to frontline workers will reach them next.
Rice-Bowen added that the organisation has been encouraging its members or their family members to register on government’s database to indicate their willingness to have the vaccine.
