Update: Nation photographer among two attacked and killed

The police are on the hunt for the suspect in the chopping death of two people, one of them an on-duty Nation Newspaper photographer.

The double-killing occurred on the premises of the former official residence of the Anglican Bishop of Barbados, at Bishop’s Court Hill, St. Michael.

A work crew was undertaking asbestos removal from the premises when allegedly one of them was attacked and chopped to death by who is suspected to be a mentally-ill man that apparently had taken up residence on the compound.

After the worker was killed a Nation Newspaper photographer who was alerted about the incident arrived on the scene and was also attacked and chopped to death. He was a young man in his twenties, the son of a police officer. Starcom Network News is withholding his name pending clearance to do so by the police.

Police public relations officer, (ag) Inspector Rodney Inniss, briefed the media at the scene.

Anglican Bishop, the Right Reverend Michael Maxwell, confirmed the first victim was a member of the work crew.
