A surface to low-level trough along with day time heating has been producing some moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms over the northern half of the island over the past few hours.
Rainfall accumulations of 1-2 inches (25-50 mm) have already been recorded across some northern districts and further accumulations of 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm ) are likely as the day progresses. Thus, a Flood-Warning has been issued for northern and central districts and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m this evening, Thursday 5th September, 2019.
Residents in flood-prone areas should remain on the alert and take the necessary precautions.
A Flood-Warning means that flooding is already occurring or is imminent.
