Political Scientist Dr. George Belle believes that Opposition leader Ralph Thorne has officially asserted himself as the leader of the Democratic Labour Party.
Dr. Belle says the shift in responsibility from Dr. Ronnie Yearwood’s shadow cabinet to Mr. Thorne and the opposition Senators, is strategic.
He believes that there should be an election within the party if there is further opposition to Mr. Thorne taking political control.

Starcom Network News was unable to get hold of DLP’s President Dr. Ronnie Yearwood, and when contacted General Secretary Steve Blackett said he has no comment.
