Barbados Christian Council address transgender row at Secondary school

Chairman of the Barbados Christian Council, Major Darrelle Wilkinson, has weighed in on the issue where a parent is challenging the refusal of a private school to allow a student born as a boy, to come to school dressed as a girl.

Providence Secondary School in St George is being accused of discrimination against the 14-year-old student who though born as a boy identifies as a girl.

Upset by the stance of the board of management of the private school, the mother of the student, a Canadian national has launched an online petition to raise national awareness to the matter and encourage members of the LGBTQ+ community to stand up for their rights.

Major Wilkinson the head of the Salvation Army had this to say on the issue.
