PM Pays Tribute at Passing of “Visionary” Everson Elcock

Businessman and renowned Barbadian electrical contractor, Everson Elcock has passed away.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley in a statement praised Mr. Elcock for being a visionary and pioneer, in his field.

Mr. Elcock was known for establishing the E.R.E and Company, an electrical services business back in the 1960’s, which went on to play a prominent role in the development of key projects, including the Hilton Barbados and the Grantley Adams International Airport.

Ms. Mottley remembered him for his commitment and resilience to start a company as a black man in a time where it was not the norm.

She said that Mr. Elcock’s life should be an example to all Barbadians, showing that opportunity can only evolve into success with hard work and diligence.
