At Risk Youth to Get Travel Opportunities

The national peace programme has launched a new initiative to provide this country’s less fortunate youth with opportunities to travel.

Minister of State in the office of the Attorney General with responsibility for crime prevention, Corey Lane says the programme is aimed at steering young people away from criminal activity.

He was speaking at the launch of phase 2 of the OHANA “gloves over guns” project in Silver hill today.

The New Horizon Initiative will take on youth from at least 11 communities to take part in developmental programmes overseas.

While highlighting some crimes committed by young people, Mr. Lane said that such programmes aim to steer youth away from deviant behaviour.
