General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, Toni Moore has issued a warning to hoteliers and others in the tourism sector who she accuses of trying to turn back the clock on workers’ rights.
She was speaking during discussion on the budget in the House of Assembly.
Ms. Moore also disclosed that talks are to commence on the proposed reform of state-owned enterprises which government has indicated will include job cuts.
She appeared to be responding to criticism of Prime Minister Mottley’s statement on the reform plan.
Critics say the plan lacks details. Miss Moore doesn’t believe it would be appropriate to provide details prior to discussions on the restructuring.
