Taxi operators are getting a fare increase.

Operators at the Grantley Adams International Airport recently staged a strike in support of their demand for a fare hike.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transportation, Works and Water Resources, Santia Bradshaw, announced the fare increase at a news conference today saying the increase is effective from tomorrow.

She was accompanied by a number of other government officials including acting attorney general Wilfred Abrahams.
