PM Mottley: Tens of Millions in Aid/ Thousands of Jobs From Overseas Deals/ Crime Fix Will Take Time

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has sought to assure the country that efforts have begun to tackle the upsurge in violent crime but warns it’s not an overnight fix and progress will take time.

Miss Mottley spoke on the issue at a news briefing at Grantley Adams International Airport after arriving from a series of meetings overseas.

Against the background of criticism of her overseas schedule, Miss Mottley outlined the benefits of her international efforts including tens of millions of dollars of financial assistance for Barbados.

She also spoke of a deal for establishment of a pharmaceutical sector project that she says could create thousands of jobs.
Miss Mottley says the creation of a pharmaceutical industry here could be the biggest game changer since her administration came to office.
