The Jamaica government today declared a State of Public Emergency in the parishes of Clarendon, St Catherine and sections of Kingston and St Andrew in response to escalating crime.
The Ministry of Education promises teachers and parents of children at Belmont Primary School that everything is being done to keep the compound safe and secure, against the background of concerns in the aftermath of a recent shooting near the school.
Environment Minister Adrian Forde has defended Prime Minister Mottley’s overseas travel in the face of criticism from the Democratic Labour Party arguing that Miss Mottley’s trips are benefitting not just Barbados but the entire region.
