Possible IMF Austerity Worries Academic

Political economist Professor Don Marshall is worried about the conditions that may be attached to the proposed new deal between Barbados and the IMF.

Professor Marshall, Director of the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Research at the UWI, Cave Hill Campus, voiced his concerns this morning during the Small Business Association’s 4th state of the sector conference.

He doesn’t think seeking IMF help is wrong but wonders what new austerity measures might be attached.
