Drowning Victim “Hard Worker, Loving Son”

The drowning victim, Tony Leacock, has been remembered by his grieving relatives as a hard worker, a friendly person, and a loving son.

The body of the 53-year-old gardener was recovered from the sea at Paynes Bay, St. James yesterday afternoon.

This morning when Starcom Network News visited the deceased’s Durants, Village, St. James Home, some of his clothes still hung on a line where he had left them shortly before leaving to go to the beach.

His mother Marie Leacock spoke of her shock at hearing the news of his death. She recalled their last conversation.

She says it’s a mystery why he was in the water as while he frequented the beach it was unusual for him to take a dip.
