Shooting Victim at Fernihurst Hoped for Fresh Start

The mother of last night’s homicide victim says he was hoping to get a chance to turn his life around after some run-ins with the law.

Twenty nine year old Kemar Murray of Fernihurst, Black Rock, St. Michael was shot dead last night at Morris Gap, Westbury Road.

The police say they received reports of gunshots in the area and later found the young man’s body with what appeared to be a wound to the head.

This morning at the family’s Fernihurst residence his mother Trudy Murray told Starcom Network News about the last time she saw the eldest of her three sons.

She noted that her son had some run-ins with the law, had been released from prison about two years ago and at the time of his death had a court matter pending.
Ms. Murray says he was hoping to eventually immigrate to Canada to get a new start.
