CRIME INCREASE AS COVID RESTRICTIONS END – POLICE SEE NO REASON FOR ALARM

Crime in Barbados is up by just over 13 percent so far this year but acting Commissioner Erwin Boyce says the statistical increase is largely the result of a contrast with the relatively quiet 2021 when more covid-19 restrictions were in place.

He was speaking as the Police Service made a presentation of Personal Protective Equipment to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Mr. Boyce gave the assurance that there’s no need for alarm.
