New minister promises licensing authority fix

New Minister of Transport Works and Water Resources Santia Bradshaw promises an overhaul of the operations of the Barbados Licensing Authority with several services to  be made available online including paying for drivers’ licenses and driving tests. Some processes may also be outsourced.

Miss Bradshaw was speaking as the House of Assembly debated an amendment to the Road Traffic Act to pave the way for the introduction of the new national ID card which is to be rolled out soon.

The Deputy Prime Minister pledges to address many of the issues the public has been complaining about.

Miss Bradshaw also disclosed that despite use of the services of the general post office to deliver more than 15 thousand drivers licenses paid for online, there’s a backlog of more than five thousand that were paid for but are yet to be delivered.
