Outrage over prayers memo

Outrage over prayers memo

Chief Education Officer, Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, insists there is no attempt by the Ministry of Education to take God out of Schools.

Her comment follows a backlash on social media among the religious community over a circular addressed to school Principals which stated that there is to be no prayer assemblies when face to face classes resume.

Instead, the ministry says that where possible students should be allowed to engage in what it calls “mindfulness sessions” in their classroom.

Dr. Archer-Bradshaw  addressed the matter earlier today following a Service of Blessing at Queen’s College.

But Reverend Dr. Lucille Baird, Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Missions, is among those who are outraged over this development.
