A recently launched online fashion project has come under fire over its name.
The project Shop-EDGE.co is a platform where fashionistas can buy some of the latest local designer wear and has the backing of National Cultural Foundation (NCF), Caribbean Export Development Agency, the European Development Fund and the Caribbean Market Centre.
The name was at the centre of controversy recently due to several people using the name as a domain in hopes of accessing a fashion website.
Head of the project Rodney Powers says however, that Shop-EDGE.co is not a website.
What made the situation even more complicated was that when people were adding ‘.com’ instead of ‘.co’, it took users to a website that contained adult content.
Mr. Powers says it’s all a big misunderstanding.
