An elderly woman has perished in a house fire in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The police say the blazed occurred about 4 am and destroyed two houses at The Garden, St. James.
The victim lived alone.
Five people lived in the other house.
The fire service responded with four tenders, and 17 personnel led by the chief fire officer.
