One of Barbados’ former long-serving diplomats Rashid Orlando Marville passed away over the weekend.
He last served in Brussels from 1987 to 1991 but also served in the mission to Washington.
The former diplomat and senator was also an activist and headed up the Universal Periodic report on Human Rights for Barbados.
Marville was made a Commander of the British Empire for his contribution to Public Service in the 2017 Independence Honours. Marville who spoke five languages was an avid Pan Africanist.
