An elderly female cruise visitor was run over by a 10 wheeler truck and killed in the Bridgetown Port this morning.
Police Public Relations Officer, acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, said the fatal accident reportedly occurred about 10:50am in the area known as the Break water located to the western side of the deep water harbor.
The UK national was a passenger onboard the cruise ship Saga Sapphire.
The truck was driven by Anthony Omar Walcott, 35 years of #52 Belair Walk, Oxnards, St. James.
Meantime, Tourism Minister Kerrie Symmonds offered condolences on behalf of the Government and said measures will be put in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
