Police report progress in the battle against illegal drugs

The Barbados police force reports progress in the battle against illegal drugs….this as over $8 million in marijuana and cocaine was destroyed this morning.

The confiscated drugs were incinerated following the conclusion of the related court cases.

Deputy commander of the Bridgetown Division, Superintendent Peter Gibson noted that they have been able to intercept drugs at ports of entry and also have conducted raids on areas where marijuana was being grown.

Police public relations officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss said the destroyed drugs included more than five thousand marijuana plants.
