NCSA concern about the level of drug abuse in Barbados

The National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA) is concerned about the extent of drug abuse in this country warning that even primary school children are being affected.

NCSA Chairman Hadford Howell says drugs are being packaged differently and even children are being lured into the cycle of abuse.

Mr. Howell told journalists covering the opening of the NCSA’s planning retreat at Savannah Hotel this morning that many parents are also using drugs while children are around, which can have an effect on them.

He says drug abuse is becoming so widespread that some people are involved and getting hooked that you would never suspect.
