More than thirty former Transport Board workers have joined forces to form a new transport association.

They have also signed on to the Transport Authority’s Transport Augmentation Programme (TAP), part of efforts to improve the island-wide bus service.

The new transport group called the “Independent Transport Operators of Barbados” was unveiled today at a signing ceremony at the ministry of Transport and Works.

Transport Minister, Dr. William Duguid said he is pleased that the 32 drivers have decided to come aboard. He also revealed that they will benefit from duty-free concessions.
