The body of a man has been found in a track in St. Philip with a suspected gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Starcom Network News understands the body was discovered in what sources described as a cart road at Marley Vale in the rural parish.

Starcom’s sources indicate the body was discovered by a person who was walking through the track about 6 30 pm.

The deceased was wearing a backpack and was dressed in a camouflage patterned shirt, shorts and slippers.

The victim has been identified as 40 year old Shawn Maynard of Bayfield, St Philip.

The body was identified by the victim’s father.
