“I see nothing wrong with hanging” – Minister of Industry and Commerce, Donville Inniss.

“I see nothing wrong with hanging” – Minister of Industry and Commerce, Donville Inniss.

Industry and Commerce Minister, Donville Inniss says he sees nothing wrong with capital punishment.

Mr. Inniss was speaking at a St. Michael East Branch meeting of the Democratic Labour Party last night.

He says he has no objection to hanging because he believes that if “you have exhausted all of the judicial processes, and you’ve been found guilty without a shadow of a doubt your penalty should fit the crime.”

Mr. Inniss says he believes the rise in gun related crimes is related to the drug trade and is making people in Barbados uncomfortable.

He called on government and the police force to do more to solve the crime situation; but does not believe that hanging will deter criminals.
