Two tourists have reportedly drowned yesterday in separate incidents.
Police say one of the victims is a female who is believed to be a German visitor.
She was scheduled to leave the island on a cruise ship yesterday but got into difficulty around 12: 30 pm while swimming at Brownes beach, St. Michael.
She was pulled from the water by another tourist and transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meantime a Canadian visitor reportedly drowned at a beach on the West Coast while he was attempting to assist two people who were experiencing difficulty.
A boat rescued the two people but when it turned around to assist the visitor he couldn’t be found.
This morning the coast guard recovered a body from a general area in the northern division and investigations are ongoing into both matters.
