55 New Recruits join the Constabulary

Fifty-five recruits have graduated into the Barbados Police Service, and the Attorney General says steps are being taken to make the service more attractive to interested individuals.

The 147th Passing-Out Parade for police recruits was held at the Regional Police training centre, yesterday.

Attorney General Dale Marshall says this is the largest number of recruits in over 10 years.

He stated that the terms of employment for Police officers is being improved in order to make the service more attractive.

Meanwhile Acting Commissioner of Police Irwin Boyce warned the new recruits on the importance of good community relations.
