Bajans Who Were Stranded in St. Lucia Are Finally Home

The Barbadians who had been stranded in St. Lucia since Tuesday are finally back home.

They touched down at Grantley Adams International Airport about 12 24 AM Sunday.

The flight was facilitated by Air Antilles, the airline on which they were originally booked.

The group who left Barbados for the Carnival festivities in St. Lucia and St. Vincent, were stranded after no flights were available as a result of industrial action by the flight crews of Air Antilles.

Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated had been communicating with Air Antilles behind the scenes to try to assist the group.

Starcom Network News understands that officials at the George F.L Charles airport in Castries extended operations beyond their normal 8pm closing period Saturday night to facilitate the special flight for the passengers travelling to Barbados.

On Arrival at GAIA the spokespersons for the group told Starcom Network News they were elated to be back on home soil and thankful to those who assisted.
