The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared that Covid-19 no longer represents a “global health emergency” – a major step towards ending the pandemic.
But both the WHO and the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners warn that this doesn’t mean the covid-19 pandemic is over.
The announcement of the end of the global public health emergency came from WHO head Dr.Tedros Ghebreyesus.
Here in Barbados, the President of BAMP, Dr. Lynda Williams reacted to the development.
Dr. Williams emphasises that the covid-19 remains a threat and there could be future spikes.
