L.T. Gay Primary Given All Clear To Fully Reopen

The Ministry of Education has given the all clear for Lawrence T Gay Memorial Primary School to re-open for all students from today.

The school had not been able to operate at full capacity since October last year, due to ongoing environmental issues, which forced students to be schooled at three offsite locations.

Chief Education Officer Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw visited the school this morning to talk to the principal and teachers.

Speaking to journalists before the start of school, Dr. Archer- Bradshaw said that the ministry has done a number of tests at the site and results indicate that there is nothing in the atmosphere at present that could be hazardous to health.

She says the ministry will continue to monitor the situation and has plans in place to address the issue if it resurfaces.

Meantime, Principal of the Lawrence T Gay Memorial Primary School Brent Blackett says he is satisfied with the steps taken to ensure the safety of staff and children at the school and he is happy to have everyone back on the same compound.
