St. Joseph Residents to Meet With Developer to Resolve Dispute

St. Joseph residents are to meet this week with a private developer to try to resolve a land access dispute that’s now before the High Court.

The meeting has been arranged by Member of Parliament for the area Dale Marshall, the attorney general.

The High Court has granted a temporary injunction halting construction of a wall at Joe’s River that residents claim blocks their access to a picturesque area.

The application for an injunction was filed by government Senator Gregory Nicholls on behalf of residents including Victor Lewis who today on VOB’s Down to Brass tacks program urged others around the country to be equally vigilant and determined.

But, Mr. Marshall, the representative for St. Joseph, believes the matter can be resolved.

Mr. Marshall stresses that both sides have rights that have to be respected.
