Truce Sought to End Gun Violence

Efforts are being made to end the disputes and reprisals that the authorities say have been behind much of the gun violence in this country.

Evidence of the truce surfaced when a photo started making the rounds on social media declaring quote – the war is over, a peace treaty has been signed.

Well-placed sources tell Starcom Network News that while there is yet no such thing as a formal signed treaty discussions were initiated between two groups identified by the names the Choppers and the Red Sea or 64th government.

Red Sea said to be a block or grouping in the Deacons Road, St. Michael, while the Choppers are said to be a gang centered at Chapman Lane the city.

Starcom Network News understands that the authorities have tried to identify the causes and initiate interventions to end the gun violence which is in some cases linked to disputes from years earlier which have led to several violent incidents and even deaths.

A meeting is said to have taken place over the past week and led to some of the key players in the groups concerned agreeing to meet, quash their differences and engage in public displays of unity, including the photos surfacing on social media, in order to send the desired signals to people under their influence.

Starcom Network Understands the feuds have extended into various communities and even schools.

Today Starcom Network News reached out to those in the so-called Red Sea to verify the reports of the alleged truce.  A young from the Deacons area confirmed they are now seeking to end the violence.
