The Harbour Depot of the Schools Meals Department has been given additional staff following last Friday’s work-stoppage when employees complained of being overworked and under-staffed.
The Schools Meals workers had also cited a shortage of vehicles as among their grievances.
They returned to work following the intervention of the National Union of Public Workers whose representatives met with the school meals staff and education officials who agreed to address the workers’ concerns.
The NUPW tells Starcom Network News the ministry is conducting an audit of the school meals centre and has provided the additional staff that was requested on Friday.
