Officials Working on A&E Fix

Health officials promise to address the problems at the Accident and Emergency Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital including long wait times.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Sonia Browne,  admits to receiving a significant number of complaints about the A and E.

Speaking on VOB’s Down to Brasstacks call-in program she and other QEH officials blamed the long waits times on the large number of people that go to the A and E for treatment including many who could or should seek medical attention elsewhere.

She spoke of plans for more staff at the A and E and to equip polyclinics to be able to handle some of the cases.
