Barbadian educator, author and former politician and talk show host Wendell Callender has passed away.

Mr. Callender entered the House of Assembly in 1994 as the Member of Parliament for Christ Church East for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). He was also Chairman of Committees in the House.
In 1997 he joined the Democratic Labour Party.

In 2018, he contested a seat in the general election on the United Progressive party (UPP) card.

He has also served as Executive Director of the Barbados Manufacturers Association, Marketing Officer of Barbados Tourism Authority, and Supervisor (Administration) Central Bank of Barbados.

Mr. Callender authored several books on Barbados. He was also a songwriter and recording artiste under the name ‘Charlie C’, record producer, and cultural events producer.
