Police Probe Leak and Carjackings

The police service reports progress in solving most of the recent homicides with more than twenty people arrested.

Assistant Commissioner with responsibility for crime management, David Griffith spoke at a news conference called today to provide an update on the crime situation.

Mr. Griffith says 24 people have been arrested so far in relation to the 35 murders reported for the year.

 

Mr. Griffith confirms reports of a recent series of attempted carjackings and disclosed that some of the force’s key units are  investigating those cases.

 

Meantime, Acting Commissioner of Police, Erwin Boyce announced that senior officer has been assigned to probe the leak of the complaint in a high profile rape case.
