Poultry Producers Think Supermarket Prices Too High

President of the Barbados Egg and Poultry Producers Association, Stephen Layne is concerned that although they have cut their prices the cost of their products remains high in some supermarkets.

In July, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley announced a series of measures aimed at reducing the cost of living including a pact with producers and retailers such as supermarkets and poultry farmers.

Miss Mottley said the agreement should reduce the price of key grocery items such as chicken.

However, Mr. Layne tells Starcom Network News research indicates that some supermarkets still have the price of poultry products too high.
