Teachers Encouraged by COVID Rate Decline Ahead of Reopening of Schools

President of the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union, Mary-Anne Redman, describes as a positive sign the continued downward trend of Barbados’ covid-19 positivity rate with just 25 new cases from 302 tests conducted on Saturday.

She notes this comes as education stakeholders prepare for the start of the new school year under relaxed protocols.

Meantime, the Barbados Union of Teachers again reports its members are ready to return to face-to-face classes this month but the BUT President Rudy Lovell still wants a few issues dealt with.
