Police Investigate Drowning of Man at Payne’s Bay

Police in the Northern Division are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the drowning of 53- year-old Tony McDonald Leacock of Durants Village, Holders Hill, St. James whose unresponsive body was discovered about 1:15 pm yesterday at Paynes Bay Beach, St. James.

Police say a Water Sports Operator was informed that there was, what appeared to be, the body of a man in the water.

After confirming that it was in fact a body, the Operator dived in, retrieved the body, and brought it to shore.

Leacock was identified by a family member. Investigations are continuing.
