man shot dead by police identified

The police have identified the man shot dead by officers early this morning as 44 year old Nealson Mason of Bank Hall Cross Road, St. Michael.

He was identified by a family member at about 12:25 PM at Two Sons Funeral Home.

The man was shot in a confrontation with police at Eagle Hall junction, St. Michael following a car chase that began around 4 AM.

Residents of Eagle Hall speak of hearing a volley of gunshots.
