PM: Change criteria for placing countries on anti-money laundering sanctions lists

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says the Government of Barbados is dedicated to the international fight against financial crime.

She however notes that countries, where financial crimes are more prevalent are subject to fewer consequences with respect to sanctions in comparison to smaller countries such as Barbados.

The Prime Minister was speaking during a high level Caribbean Financial Access Roundtable this morning at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Ms. Mottley suggests that there needs to be a change in how countries are placed on anti- money laundering sanctions lists.
