Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has restated her offer of Senate seats to allow for an opposition voice in the Upper Chamber.
Miss Mottley disclosed that government has received the legal opinion requested on the issue of representation in the Senate for the opposition parties, and repeated the offer to grant the Democratic Labour Party two seats.
The Democratic Labour Party has reacted to the Prime Minister’s offer of Senate seats.
The DLP’s interim President Steve Blackett doesn’t believe the Prime Minister has the legal authority to make such an offer which he believes should come from the President.
